Respect the River restoration services:
This website is here to showcase our ongoing mission towards a sustainable future, conserving clean water in rivers flowing through biodiverse riverine corridors within the Garden Route. If you would like to make a direct & positive impact, collaborate, donate or volunteer at events, please get in touch with us.

"At Respect the River, we offer a wide range of services aimed at restoring and conserving riverine ecosystems. From clearing exotic species to reforestation efforts to educational events focussed on the health of the river and also teaching the communities how to identify, and care, for the health of the ecosystems that surround us."

"Waste management has been an important part of this project, in particular educating people on more efficient ways of dealing with non-organic waste materials so that it does not end up in our precious ecosystems..."

“Respect the River is a great community-run initiative that aims to educate – and work with – the community about the importance of keeping the water system clean and the ecosystem thriving. Riverbank restoration and invasive plant species removal are essential steps towards preserving our natural environment for future generations,” emphasises Susan Evans, FTFA Event & Tree Distribution Manager.

If you would like to book a tour of the restoration site or if you would like to get involved please send us an email and we will get back to you.
